🏠 CGST + SGST
For intra-state sales (within same state), GST is split equally into CGST (Central) and SGST (State). At 18%: CGST = 9%, SGST = 9%.
🚚 IGST
For inter-state sales (across states), the full GST goes as IGST (Integrated GST). At 18%: IGST = 18%. Collected by the Centre.
➕ GST Exclusive
Price before tax. Add GST on top. Shown as "Base Price + GST". Common in B2B invoicing.
➖ GST Inclusive
Price already includes GST. Use Remove GST mode to find the pre-tax base and the GST component hidden inside the total.
Frequently asked questions
How to add GST to a price?
Enter the base (pre-GST) amount, select your GST rate, and choose "Add GST". Total = Base × (1 + Rate/100). For example, ₹1,000 at 18% GST = ₹1,000 × 1.18 = ₹1,180.
How to remove GST from an inclusive price?
Switch to "Remove GST", enter the total GST-inclusive amount, and select the rate. Base = Total ÷ (1 + Rate/100). For example, ₹1,180 at 18% → Base = ₹1,180 ÷ 1.18 = ₹1,000.
What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?
CGST and SGST are charged on intra-state (within same state) supplies — each is half the total rate. IGST is charged on inter-state (cross-state) supplies and equals the full rate. Both result in the same total tax for the buyer.
What are the GST slabs in India?
The four main slabs are 5% (essential goods), 12% (processed foods, standard goods), 18% (most services and electronics), and 28% (luxury goods and automobiles). There are also 0%, 3% (gold), and special cess rates.
How many items can I calculate at once?
The Multi-item Calculator has no limit. Click "+ Add Item" to add as many rows as needed. Each row has its own GST rate, and the grand total updates automatically.
