How is GPA calculated?

GPA is a weighted average. Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours to get "quality points." All quality points are summed and divided by total credit hours.

GPA = ฮฃ(Grade Points ร— Credits) รท Total Credits
CGPA = (Previous Quality Points + Current QP) รท Total Credits
Percentage = (GPA รท Scale Max) ร— 100
๐Ÿ“š Credit weighting

A 4-credit course has twice the weight of a 2-credit course. Always enter the correct credit value from your transcript.

๐ŸŽฏ Dean's List

Most universities require 3.5+ on a 4.0 scale for Dean's List recognition. Check your institution's specific requirements.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ 10-point CGPA

Many Indian universities use 10-point grading. Multiply by 9.5 for the approximate percentage (standard CBSE formula).

๐Ÿ“ˆ Improving GPA

Retaking poor courses, excelling in high-credit subjects, and consistent performance are the fastest ways to raise CGPA.
